If you love birds and photography, then you will enjoy your visit to the Karrinyup Water Resort. With a choice of two lakes, you will find an selection of water birds to watch, observe and capture on camera!
The collage below will display a variety of birds captured through the lens. If you would like to know bird names, please comment below!
Of course…when you have water, you also have a chance to see Turtles. And, in Perth you will find the Common Snakeneck Turtle. I guess just by looking at them you can guess why they are called Snakeneck Turtles! 😉
The are an abundance of birds that tend to come closer than most wildlife. It is interesting to note that the Dusky Moorhens (the one with the red beaks) tend to look after all young. Regardless if the chick is theirs or not, you will find many of these birds will fed chicks and protect them.
Of course, the Pacific Black duck is very tame in relation to wild ducks. And like many ducks, will venture towards you in hopes to get a few scraps.
Needless to say, one can spend a whole day at the resort watching and observing these birds. Some may even sit right next to you which is an amazing experience.
I am unsure if you are allowed a day pass, however I have linked the resort into this article. Please contact them to see if you are able to spend the day taking photos. Once again the best time would probably be early morning and sunset.
