Welcome to ARoadTravelled.
We arrived at the name ‘A Road Travelled’ mostly because we, as a family, enjoy travelling. We generally go to places others don’t go to and write about them. I think we were inspired to do this when the movie Cars came out…and Radiator Springs (a happening town in its time) became a ‘ghost town’. We feel that if we can show the world all the ‘Radiator Springs’ in the world, then we not only can show them the ‘gem’ they are missing but help that little town come back to ‘life’.
So who are we?
Well there is my husband – aka DAD. He does most of the driving. And generally is the one helping with the ‘detours’. He is also the one taking some photos.
Then there is me – aka Mum. I am the one writing most of the blog, taking photos, talking to locals and probably having the best time of all.
Then there is the 2 little ‘thornberrys’…who have grown up a little since we first hit the road. G is in her last year of school, enjoys writing (and editing my posts when she has the chance), love photography and everything to do with the environment. C has a couple of years to go, loves drawing, creating animations, not so much the writing one but enjoys taking some photos.
Of course all of crew are responsible for daily chores which include building and taking down a tent, washing dishes, changing tires, filling petrol….you know the normal stuff you need to do while travelling.
We are based in Western Australia and have been here for 6 years. I guess we arrived from Auckland – loved it and stayed. There is a lot about WA that most people don’t see and we hope to change that.
So if you found our site, and want to know more about the better things to see in Western Australia – you have come to the ‘write’ place! If you are looking for something just a little particular – then contact us. We may not respond straight away (as we may be out of wifi zone) but we will get back to you!
See you on A Road Travelled
